Pi Quartet is a string quartet based in The Hague comprising Leah Plave (cello), Lidwine Dam (viola), Leslee Smucker (violin), and Hoei Lien The (violin). With varied musical and cultural backgrounds, Pi Quartet emerged through the exploration of contemporary classical repertoire. United by a shared vision of what a 21st century string quartet can be, Pi quartet is motivated not only by a love for spirited music but also by a drive to challenge the way meaningful concerts are conceived. The name "Pi," referring to π, symbolizes infinite possibilities surrounding a performance space and reflects their open, unconventional approach to their practice.
